If you have to cry, go outside.

RRP: £14.99 (much cheaper on Play.com though!)

Hi my lovelies. Today I’m gonna do a review of a BOOK :) I’ve recently finished reading ‘If you have to cry, go outside: And other things your mother never told you’ by Kelly Cutrone.

I was really EXCITED to read this as, personally, I find Kelly to be a very strong, passionate, independent woman. Something I’m sure we all would love to be like. If you’ve not heard of her before here’s a little bit of information on her…

She’s known a lot for her presence in MTVs ‘The Hills’ - she was (& still is) such a strong character - but is also extremely well known in the PR world.

As you can tell from the picture above, this book isn’t a guide onto how to become a successful business woman. It is more about Kelly’s journey to where she is at now & tips/tricks to help you deal with life. I thought it’d be a great read & hoping it would help me become a STRONGER PERSON.

Kelly is a very spiritual person - which was very surprising to me. She has high morals, strong values & much more. After reading the book I realised just why she is the way she is. The book has truly helped me to be a stronger person, to not give up & also not to take crap from people/things in life. THINKING POSITIVE IS KEY! Everything I was taught, reading this, including my ‘Tribe Members’ will definitely follow me throughout my life. I don’t want to give too much away in case you wish to read it ;) I thought I’d share my favourite quotes with you dolls :)

“Sometimes, if not most of the time, you find out who you are by figuring out who and what you are not.”

“Dreams won’t always take you on a straight path to destiny, but theyre usually related to what your soul wants.”

“True joy is in progress.”

“If you don’t let what you don’t know stop you from doing your best in every situation, you will surprise yourself over and over.”

“You can’t fake hard work.”

“When you believe in something and truly go after it with all you have, amazing things will happen.”

“The hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most.”

“I believe all women know in their heart of hearts that they truly are divine and magical, even if they’ve temporarily forgotten.”

“When life deals you blows, there are blessings to be found in them if you look hard enough.”

“My mistakes have been some of the best teachers of my life.”

- Kelly Cutrone

I really liked this page - all 13 tips for dressing to work are a must!! All in all, if you like reading about positivity, life & life stories/experiences this is definitely a must :) She’s got a new book called “Normal Gets You Nowhere” coming out this May which I’ll definitely be getting my hands on :)

I knew Kelly Cutrone was writing a book but I sort of forgot about it and didn’t realize it was out! I’ll have to try and order this online! I first saw Kelly on “the Hills”, and then totally fell in love with her honesty and determination when she came out with her own show “Kell on Earth”. I’m so excited you did this review!!

I just finished reading through the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. The first book is called “One for the Money” (goes all the way through 17!) and they are making a movie based on it starring Katherine Heigl =) Love it!

this sounds like such a great read, great review. books like ‘the secret’ introduce that idea of thinking positive but on another level, it’s great though to have a personal account of that. will be on my list of things to buy! :-)

Thanks for posting this chick! It sounds like its right up my street! To be honest I just thought Kelly Cutrone was a bit of an ogre, but it looks I was so wrong! I really want to get a copy of this now! I love philosophy books like the secret and find all of the quotes really inspiring. I have just finished a Sophie Kinsella book called Remember me,I love her books! :) xxx

The what to wear thing seems a bit obvious. I mean if you go in to work wearing any of those things then you are a twat. It worries me that she needs to write that list, clearly people have actually been dressing like that. Lol at Ed Hardy getting slated. Wouldn’t dare ever wear Ed Hardy.

I really want to read this but it’s always sold out on Amazon! I love Kelly Cutrone - she’s so inspirational… but I don’t agree with rule number 5! x

I’m totally with Kelly on that one, the last time I wore heels to work my feet were in hell by the end of the day (bad times!) LOL x

She has a house near where I live in upstate New York and I know a bunch of people that have met her at the mall and grocery stores. Apparently, she is actually a really nice person and very kind to her fans. Someone told me that she is the opposite of the meany boss on The Hills.
    Love your blog!

    xoxo
